How do I check in?
THERE WILL BE NO WILL CALL AT BITTER CREEK RANCH. YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR WRISTBANDS AT THE MOTHERLODE SALOON BEFORE HEADING TO THE RANCH.
Will Call will be set up in front of the Motherlode Saloon starting at 12 pm on Thursday, as will our rapid-testing station. To receive your wristbands, you will need to provide one of the following:
- COVID-19 Vaccination card, or photo of card with ID
- Proof of negative test within 72 hours of arrival
- Negative result from rapid test administered on site
You will not need a physical copy of your ticket, but you will need to bring your ID so that we can provide your wristbands at will-call.
Parking and dinner at Bitter Creek Ranch will open at 4:00 PM. Please pack appropriate layers for cold and potentially rainy weather. Mountain weather is notoriously unpredictable. It may still feel like T-shirt weather in the afternoon, but it will be chilly by the end of the show. It may also be a bluebird day at 4pm, but rain clouds may form in a matter of minutes. Please be prepared and/or buy a souvenir hoodie at the merch stand 😉
There will be no COVID-19 screening for events at Brandenburg Park. The State of New Mexico does currently mandate that you wear a mask indoors, and so you will be required to do so to visit the vendors inside the Conference Center. Please bring one if you can, and we will also have masks available. If your first point of entry to the festival is Brandenburg Park, we will issue you a day-pass wristband for the day’s activities at the park, and ask you to please bring your vaccination/negative test proof with you to the Motherlode Saloon later in the day to pick up your 3-Day wristband(s). Friday Will-Call and rapid-testing in front of the Motherlode will open with doors for the evening’s activities at 7pm.
Can I pick up my wristband early?
Will-Call begins at noon on Thursday and is located at the Motherlode.
What tickets grant access to the park?
GA and VIP festival passes include park entry. Single-day park-only passes will be available at the park gate for $10 per day. Single-event tickets for evening shows at the Motherlode are available now online, and may be available at the Motherlode gate.
What about kids?
Kids 12 and Under may attend shows at Bittercreek Ranch and Brandenburg Park for free.
Motherlode Saloon shows are 21 and over.
Can I bring my pet?
Well-behaved dogs are allowed in the park and must be kept on leash at all times. You are responsible for cleaning up after your dog!
How should I prepare for the altitude?
Red River sits at 8750’ of elevation, and Bitter Creek Ranch a little higher, and the climate is very dry. Upon arrival, most folks experience minor fatigue and a few, altitude sickness. Your best defense against altitude fatigue/sickness is hydration before and upon arrival. Drink plenty of water on your journey to Red River, and also expect any alcohol intake to land a little more effectively than you’re used to. There is an oxygen bar in town as well, and disposable oxygen canisters may also be purchased at our in-town grocery store, Der Markt.
What COVID-19 safety measures and restrictions are in place?
Please see our COVID policy here
What is the schedule?
Please see our schedule here
Can I bring a lawn chair or an umbrella for shade?
Lawn chairs and umbrellas for shade are both allowed in the park.
Will there be food and drinks for sale? Is outside food or drink allowed in the festival?
We have a small group of food vendors around the park that will be open during the day. Food options range from vegetarian, Filipino-inspired and classic American. Outside food and drink is permitted, but outside alcohol is prohibited. You may bring empty water bottles and there will be a water fountain inside the conference center.
Can I volunteer in exchange for a festival pass?
Yes! We are still in need of reliable volunteers. For more information, contact Charlie at hello@redriverevents.com.
Can I be a Miner’s Market vendor at the festival?
Yes, we are still currently accepting applications for craft and food vendors at the event. The application process is listed on our website here. If you would like to be a vendor, please contact us as soon as possible so we can complete all necessary paperwork and fees and assign your booth space.
Can I get a refund on my ticket?
Tickets for the Red River Folk Festival are non-refundable. If you have to cancel this year, we are happy to transfer your ticket to the 2022 event.
What happens if it rains?
The Red River Folk Festival is a rain or shine event! Please bring appropriate layers for all weather. Fall in the mountains is a very unpredictable time. Weather can shift quickly and without warning. Our overnight lows are already dropping into the low 30s most nights, with daytime temperatures reaching the 70s on the warmest days this past week. We have a sunny forecast, but rain is also always a possibility!
Are cameras permitted?
Yes, cameras are allowed. Please no flash photography. Commercial photography is not allowed.
Does my ticket come with on-site camping?
No, all lodging arrangements should be made separately.
